Year Group Leader – Required for September 2018

Two vacancies have arisen in our team of Year Leaders, in this vibrant, highly performing and exciting school.  One position is a permanent post; the other is for a year’s temporary maternity cover.

As a member of the SLT you will play a pivotal role in continuing the school’s journey to outstanding.

Your year leader responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of excellent staff
  • Driving progress through your innovative and dynamic approach to planning and teaching exciting learning opportunities across the curriculum
  • Providing an outstanding role model for our confident and enthusiastic children
  • Engaging positively with the wider community of the school.

The successful candidate will have a proven record of good and outstanding teaching. You may have experience of leadership in your current role or have a passion for moving forward in your career to a senior leadership role. You must be willing to go the extra mile to ensure that every child in your year group has every opportunity to succeed.

Experience in year 6 is desirable, but not essential. Experience of leading Maths or PE would also be desirable.

Avenue Junior School is a 4 form entry Junior School located in the ‘Golden Triangle’ area of Norwich. We have wonderfully enthusiastic children with a stimulating and creative curriculum with an excellent record of academic achievement.

We are proud to have supportive staff, an active PTA and a strong Governing Body.

This position is not suitable for Newly Qualified Teachers.

School Crossing Patrol Required

We are again advertising for a School Crossing Patrol to see children safely across The Avenues outside Avenue Junior School.

We urgently need a caring, reliable and active person with a friendly disposition to be the school crossing patrol. We are also interested in anybody who wishes to job share.

Full training is given on site and each Patrol is provided with a uniform. The rate of pay is £7.78 per hour.

The hours of duty are:  8:15 – 9:00 and 15:00 – 15:30.

I must stress to parents that they need to ensure their children are safely escorted across The Avenues whilst we are trying to fill the vacancy.
