Parent Teacher Association

The objectives of the Avenue Junior School Parent Teacher Association (AJSPTA), are to advance the education of pupils at the School by providing or enhancing the provision of facilities not normally able to be provided by the LA delegated school budget, and in so doing, to forge closer links between parents and staff in the life of the School.  It is a lively, active and very friendly association playing an important part in School life.

All parents with children at Avenue Junior School automatically become members of AJSPTA. Their continued support is both vital and highly valued. Committee meetings are open to all and the dates of these and all AJSPTA events are advertised via newsletters, Facebook or posters.

AJSPTA is a member of PTA UK and as such, takes advantage of the benefits which this organisation has to offer.

For the school year 2014-15, the AJSPTA raised £4700, with £2700 raised at the Summer BBQ alone. The Christmas Fair, School Disco’s and numerous Cake Sales, and Quizzes all help enormously, and your support in these is really appreciated.

We contributed £1000 towards new drums and £1000 to Performing Arts Week as well as other items in 2014-15.

We are in a good position financially for 2015-16. We plan on contributing £5000 towards new playground equipment and shelter for a Forest School outdoor area. Other funding projects are in the pipe-line.

If you could spare time each half term to attend a meeting, or simply offer your services for any of our events over the course of the year, we would be very pleased to hear from you.  Please email us at if you’d like to know more. We also update the Avenue Junior School PTA Facebook page with events and news so please like our page to keep up to date!
