The objectives of Avenue Junior School Association (AJSA) are to advance the education of pupils at the School by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities not normally provided by the LEA and, in so doing, to forge closer links between parents and staff in the life of the School. It is a lively and active association playing an important part in School life. Over the last few year it has organised a variety of social and fundraising events for pupils and their families.
All parents with children at the school, automatically become members of AJSA. Their continued support is both vital and highly valued. Committee meetings are open to all and the dates of these and all AJSA events are passed on through regular newsletters.
AJSA is a member of the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations, and as such takes advantage of the benefits which this organisation has to offer.
Over the year, AJSA supports events both in and out of school, from the Summer Barbeque and Fete, to Quiz nights, a Treasure Hunt, and general fundraising activities.
Many events take part, and the financial benefits are felt by the school in the many areas which AJSA is therfore able to support – such as the Performing Arts Week, Pantomimes for the school, as well as resources for the playground and teaching rooms.
If you could spare time each half term to attend a meeting, or simply offer your services for any of our events over the course of the year, we would be very pleased to see you!
